Peter Holan advises on matters pertaining to banking and finance law, including financial markets regulation and compliance.
As a lawyer, he focuses on topics that are relevant from a regulatory perspective, in particular, under the German Banking Act (KWG), Payment Services Supervision Act (ZAG), Securities Trading Act (WpHG), Capital Investment Code (KAGB), Anti-Money Laundering Act (GwG) and Trade Ordinance (GewO). As part of his legal services, Peter Holan advises international and domestic banks, credit institutions, financial services providers, investment management companies, depositaries and issuing houses, as well as FinTech and start-up companies, including in the area of crypto markets.
Peter Holan studied law at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg (Germany) and at Tel Aviv University (Israel). Whilst at university, he was on a Stiftung der deutschen Wirtschaft (sdw) scholarship. As a research assistant, he gained experience working in international commercial law firms in Hamburg, Frankfurt (both Germany) and New Delhi (India). During his legal training, Peter Holan already worked for Luther and also for Deutsche Bundesbank (Germany’s federal bank), amongst others.
