Dr Joachim Heinemann studied law at the Universities of Tübingen and Hamburg (Germany), with a focus on company, labour and capital market law. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Hamburg for a doctoral thesis on a corporate law topic (“hidden contribution in kind”). Dr Joachim Heinemann undertook his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Celle, Germany, which included working in the corporate law department for Luther and for the Permanent Representation Office of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in Berlin, Germany. Dr Joachim Heinemann was admitted to the German Bar in 2013. Before joining Luther in 2017, he worked for four and half years in the Private Equity / M&A department of an international law firm in the offices of Munich and Hamburg.

  • Advising on an ongoing basis on the acquisition of companies in various industries, including marketplace online merchants (e.g. FBA businesses), automotive, insurance companies and insurance brokers, online marketing, nursing care providers, renewable energy sources (wind power, photovoltaics, biogas), shipping, e-learning, food and dietary supplements, machine and plant engineering and construction, hardware and software, electronic equipment, mechatronics and 3D printing
  • Advising on mergers, hive-downs, divisions and spin-offs of companies and parts of companies
