Katja Neumüller advises German and European companies on their global expansion. She specialises in advising clients on national and international M&A transactions, such as cross-border acquisitions and disposals, the formation and dissolution of joint ventures, and corporate restructuring aimed at creating an efficient corporate and capital structure within the group. Her expertise covers, in particular, project structuring and coordination, due diligence reviews, contract drafting and contract negotiations. A particular focus is on cross-border transactions in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly China and India. In addition, Katja Neumüller advises foreign investors on corporate law matters when entering the German market, whether through an acquisition or the establishment of a new company. In the past, she has also advised foreign investors on initial public offerings in Germany.
In addition to her bilingual A-levels, Katja Neumüller obtained a degree in Michigan (USA). She studied law in Göttingen and Madrid (Spain). During her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, she worked for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf and for Luther in Düsseldorf and Singapore. Katja Neumüller has been admitted to the bar since 2011 and works in the Corporate / M&A practice at Luther in Cologne. In the first half of 2014, she worked at Luther’s office in Shanghai (China).
Katja Neumüller regularly holds workshops for European companies and start-ups wishing to become active in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as for foreign investors planning to enter the German market. Since 2015, Katja Neumüller has also taken on various speaking roles for the junior executives of member companies of the East Asian Association (OAV for short), the leading trade association for business relations in the Asia-Pacific region, comprising more than 400 renowned companies. She has also been a member of the OAV’s Executive Board since 2022.
