Dr Maximilian Kressner advises primarily European companies and start-ups on their investment projects and operations in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Singapore. His areas of expertise include corporate law, corporate governance, and compliance issues (such as data protection, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering regulations, and employment law), as well as joint ventures, and domestic and cross-border M&A. He further assists clients with the structuring, establishment, and regulatory aspects of investment funds. Dr Kressner serves as a board member for several European and international corporations in Singapore.
Dr Maximilian Kressner studied law at Humboldt University Berlin and at the University of Oxford, where he completed his Master's degree in the Magister Juris (M.Jur.) programme. Subsequently, Dr Maximilian Kressner was a doctoral student at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich with visiting researcher positions at the University of Hong Kong and Georgetown University. In 2018 he obtained his Doctorate (Dr.jur.) from the Ludwig Maximilians University Munich (LMU) and was certified as a Commercial Mediator by the Munich Centre of Dispute Resolution (MucDR). Dr Maximilian Kressner completed his legal training in Berlin with stints at leading national and international law firms as well as the German Chancellery. He joined Luther in April 2019.
