Luther advises on the sale of the Spreewaldhof family business to Andros

Berlin – The shareholders of Spreewaldkonserve Golßen GmbH (Spreewaldhof) have entered into an agreement with Andros Deutschland GmbH to sell the traditional company with the “Spreewaldhof” brand. Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft advised the shareholders of Spreewaldhof on the transaction with a team led by Dr Christian Horn.

Background

Through the sale to Andros, one of the largest fruit-processing companies in Europe and, like Spreewaldhof, a family-owned business, the shareholders want to ensure the traditional family business with production sites in Germany and Hungary continues and is further developed in the long term.

The takeover is subject to clearance by the German antitrust authority.

About Spreewaldhof:

For around 130 years, the family business in Golßen in the German state of Brandenburg has been processing various types of fruit and vegetables and is one of the largest employers in the region. Managed by the third generation, the company sells more than 250 products (including private label products) in over 30 countries and generated sales of EUR 109 million in the financial year 2018/2019. With its range of gherkins, Spreewaldhof is the undisputed number 1 in eastern Germany, and number 3 in the nationwide market.
