Vita

Jakob Kauffeldt studied law at the University of Hamburg (Germany) and carried out his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Celle (Germany). After successfully completing his legal training, he initially worked as a research assistant in a large international law firm before going on to obtain a Master of Laws degree in corporate and commercial law from Bond University in Australia. After starting to work as a lawyer in 2020 and before joining Luther, Jakob Kauffeldt gained valuable professional experience during his time at a large international law firm and at a Magic Circle law firm.

  • Advising the Lomar Group on the acquisition of the Bremen-based shipping company Carl Büttner
  • Advising a German shipping company regarding the order and construction of five 8,400 TEU container ships at Chinese shipyards
  • Advising a German shipping company on the sale of thirty-five container ships (including negotiation of purchase and charter agreements, registrations and closings)
