Dr Astrid Schnabel, LL.M. (Emory)

Dr Astrid Schnabel advises national and international companies on matters pertaining to individual and collective employment law and other, related areas of law. One of her focus areas is works constitution law, in particular in connection with the works council’s co-determination rights when it comes to restructurings and staff adjustments, the introduction of IT systems and health and safety at work. Another focus area is advising on the transfer of businesses, on acquisitions and the cross-border deployment of staff. Astrid Schnabel also represents companies in court and before conciliation committees.

Dr Astrid Schnabel studied law at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg (Germany) and at Emory University in Atlanta (USA). After carrying out her legal training, which included training periods in a leading commercial law firm in Atlanta and at the European Commission in Brussels (Belgium), among others, she worked for an international commercial law firm from 2014 to 2021, as a member of the employment law practice group in the Hamburg office and also on secondment in Atlanta. Astrid Schnabel joined Luther in 2021.

• Advising a globally operating IT and telecommunications company on individual and collective employment law issues, including staff cuts, the closure of sites and remuneration systems

• Astrid Schnabel has been a member of the Board of the Hanseatic Bar Association since 2020
