Oliver Köhler focuses his practice on advising clients in complex financial restructurings as well as in StaRUG and debtor-in-possession proceedings (Eigenverwaltung/Schutzschirm). A key part of his work involves advising senior executives and board members in navigating corporate crises. He regularly advises buyers and sellers on M&A transactions involving distressed assets and special situations.
Oliver has particular expertise in restructurings in the real estate, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
Prior to joining Luther, Oliver Köhler worked at the international law firm Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman) in financial restructuring and insolvency law, and at Finkenhof, a law firm that specialized in advising distressed companies.
He gained international experience working with White & Case in New York (USA), at the German Consulate General in Hong Kong and with a medium-sized company in Oslo (Norway).
