Areas of practice
Matthias Schaut's practice focuses on advising commercial enterprises and public authorities in the areas of public procurement and contract law as well as private construction law. This includes project development and comprehensive legal support for complex construction projects, from the design of the tendering procedure to the representation of bidders. In private construction law, he supports clients in all project phases, such as contract drafting and dispute resolution.
Vita
After completing his bachelor's degree in Law and Economics at the University of Bonn, Matthias Schaut studied law in Bonn. In the meantime, he worked there as a research assistant. In 2022, he completed the LL.M. programme at Duke University School of Law (NC, USA). During his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, he worked for an international commercial law firm in Düsseldorf, among others.
Matthias Schaut has been with Luther since completing his legal clerkship in 2025.
