Dr Christian Rabe

Dr Christian Rabe is a lawyer and certified specialist in IT law.

A key focus of his practice lies in traditional IT law (including the drafting and negotiation of IT contracts, the negotiation of software licence agreements with major software manufacturers, and IT project work).

Another main focus of Christian Rabe’s work is advising on data protection law, in particular assessing the permissibility of future data processing activities as well as examining and evaluating internal data protection structures at group or company level. Additional areas of expertise include e-commerce law, copyright and competition law, as well as defamation and press law.

Christian Rabe is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and publishes regularly on data protection issues.

Dr Christian Rabe studied law with a focus on information and communication at the Universities of Hamburg (Germany) and Alicante (Spain) from 2004 to 2010. He received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg for a thesis on a topic regarding the right to publicly express one’s opinions. Christian Rabe was admitted to the German Bar in 2015, joined Luther in 2016 and has been a certified specialist in IT law since 2024. Christian Rabe is a member of Luther’s IT Law/Data Protection Law practice group.
