Mutares acquires ÖBB Subsidiary Q Logistics with Luther

Mutares, a Munich-based investment company and turnaround specialist, acquires Q Logistics, Austria's leading logistics company and subsidiary of Österreichische Bundesbahnen-Holding Aktiengesellschaft (ÖBB). The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities in Germany and Austria. Luther advises Mutares on the merger control transaction.

Background

The holding company Mutares SE & Co. KGaA acquires and restructures medium-sized companies in turnaround situations. With the acquisition of Q Logistics GmbH, Mutares has gained access to the Austrian market. The acquisition is already the eighth transaction for Mutares in the current fiscal year.

Q Logistics GmbH is the logistics subsidiary of ÖBB founded in 2017. It offers cross-border transport logistics and warehousing services in various industries. The company employs around 920 people and generated consolidated total sales of around EUR 250 million in fiscal year 2018.
