For the 2026/2027 financial year: Luther promotes seven partners and five counsels

Cologne, 1 July 2026 – Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH is continuing to pursue its growth strategy and is sending a clear signal regarding career prospects within the firm. On 1 July 2026, the start of the new financial year, seven colleagues will be admitted to the partnership. A further five will join the firm as counsel.

  • The following have been appointed as counsels: Jens Kaiser (Leipzig), Mathis Lorenzen (Stuttgart), Lisa Niesen (Essen), Maxim Oertel (Berlin) and Anton Spinty (Berlin)

  • Ekkehard Hübel provides advice on all matters relating to environmental law and funding law. Dr Franziska Klaß-Dingeldey, MLE , advises on matters relating to public procurement law and public commercial law.
     
  • Simone Lersch provides advice on all aspects of commercial and medical criminal law.
     
  • Dr Moritz Mentzel advises domestic and foreign companies on company law and M&A projects. 
     
  • Hannah-Laura Schütte advises companies in various sectors, both nationally and internationally, on restructuring matters.
     
  • Dr Hendrik Bernd Sehy advises companies operating in the German healthcare market, as well as investors, on entering the market.
     
  • Volkan Top specialises in national and international financing transactions. 

In the 2025/2026 financial year, which ended on 30 June 2026, the Luther Partnership welcomed the following new external members:

  • July 2025: Dr Katrin Stieß joined Luther as a partner in the Corporate/M&A practice at its Munich office. She is an experienced and successful adviser in the technology and banking sectors.
     
  • July 2025: Dr Guido Hoffmann, LL.M. (Cornell) , advises banks, alternative lenders, companies and investors on complex financing and M&A transactions, including crisis, turnaround and restructuring advice. 
     
  • January 2026: Dr Alexander Ehrle, LL.M. (NYU) , joined Luther’s Frankfurt and Brussels offices as a partner. He advises on foreign trade law (export control, sanctions and anti-boycott law), investment screening law (FDI & FSR) and sustainability law.
     
  • February 2026: Dr Thomas Wilk joined Luther (Essen office) as a partner and is also Managing Director of the newly established Luther Public Services GmbH. Prior to this, he was District President in Cologne.
