Luther advises Frankfurt Book Fair on participation in licensing trading platform IPR License - Transaction marked by the increasing digitization of the book market

Frankfurt Book Fair (FBF) has acquired a minority shareholding in the global rights and licensing trading platform IPR License. Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH has advised Frankfurt Book Fair in this transaction.

Background

With the strategic investment in the global rights and licensing trading platform IPR License, Frankfurt Book Fair complements its portfolio with a global online platform. Frankfurt Book Fair is a strategic partner for IPR License to make its rights and licensing trading platform an industry standard tool for the international book market. In the future, the two companies will cooperate in sales and marketing as well as in the online business.

About IPR License

IPR License, Ltd., based in London, facilitates the search for available rights for books. The TradeRights-Tool makes it easier to offer, negotiate and complete the transaction. According to the operators 14m records are listed on the platform. Customers include publishers and literary agents.
