Legal Design: Design processes & identify potentials
Legal Design is an approach to dealing with and solving complex challenges from a user’s perspective. By analysing, designing and optimising processes and workflows, the Luther.Solutions experts develop concepts that lead to more efficient handling of tasks within the organisation or when carrying out a client mandate.
In workshops, discussions as well as through evaluated documents, the potential is jointly identified and recommendations for implementation are made. Current and future processes within the organisation or the client mandate are mapped together with concrete, evaluated recommendations and options for action. The goal is to increase efficiency, quality and transparency in the handling of tasks. In many cases, one element of success is the support of processes and procedures by digital services and/or the automation of workflows. In the next step, “Legal Tech”, the IT potential identified is worked out in detail, programmed by our specialists, if required, and implemented in the existing areas of work.

As digitalisation advances, the processes and procedures used in law firms and legal departments are changing. In light of increasing demands from the individual areas, we need to break new ground as regards networking and the exchange of information. Existing processes should be scrutinised at regular intervals and, where necessary, optimised and, to the extent reasonable, automated. The objective of this approach is to question the efficiency of legal processes. Especially daily internal procedures hold great potential for automation. The emission scandal caused by manipulated diesel engines and the related wave of legal actions against car manufacturers is just one example of the growing number of mass proceedings in the market. In addition to the automotive industry, we anticipate that the health care, telecommunications and media industries and trade will also see a strong increase in mass proceedings in the future. In this context, another important aspect, apart from legal competence, will be the efficient and transparent handling of legal actions.
