Laura Hoffmann advises clients on legal issues relating to digitalisation, information technology and the protection of intellectual property. One focus of her advisory work is on intellectual property and competition law. She advises on the registration of IP and supports clients in enforcing their rights both out of court and in proceedings, including in matters relating to trade secrets and trademarks. Another focus of her practice is data protection and IT law. She advises on the introduction of innovative IT tools and AI-supported apps as well as comparable digitisation projects. She negotiates data processing and IT contracts for companies, among other things. In the area of data protection compliance, she provides comprehensive advice on the implementation of the EU German Data Protection Regulation and the Federal Data Protection Act.
Laura Hoffmann studied law at Goethe University in Frankfurt (Germany). In 2018 she obtained a Master’s degree in International Studies in the area of Intellectual Property Law from the Technical University of Dresden (Germany) and Queen Mary University London (England). Laura Hoffmann carried out her legal training at the Regional Court of Frankfurt, completing inter alia training periods with the Chamber for Intellectual Property Matters at the Regional Court of Frankfurt and a law firm specialising in IP/IT law in Cape Town (South Africa).
