Dr. Astrid Seehafer, M.Sc., is an experienced industry lawyer in the areas of product liability, product compliance and ESG. She is a partner in our Berlin office and co-head of our ESG and MedTech groups.
Professional expertise:
- Dr. Astrid Seehafer is a renowned litigator in cross-border and complex product liability proceedings, particularly in the medtech and pharmaceutical industries.
- Another focus is providing strategic advice to companies in highly regulated industries and in the retail sector on product compliance and ESG issues, as well as representing them in related administrative and competition disputes. Another key part of her work is supporting product recalls, including all necessary communication with authorities and subsequent recourse disputes in the supply chain.

Vita
Dr. Astrid Seehafer studied international economics and law in Groningen, London and Berlin. She obtained her Master of Science in International Business in Groningen and her doctorate in food law in Hanover.
From 2015 to 2022, she worked at Freshfields in Dispute Resolution / Public Commercial Law with a focus on product liability and product compliance, particularly in the healthcare and consumer goods sectors.
From 2022 to 2024, she worked for ARQIS, where she established and headed the Product Law practice as a partner.
In autumn 2024, Dr. Astrid Seehafer joined the partnership at Luther.
