Real Estate law: Luther wins Dr Helmut Miernik for the Dusseldorf office

As of 1 January 2017, Dr Helmut Miernik will be starting work in the Dusseldorf offices of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH. He will be providing consulting services for both construction and architectural law and for real estate law. Dr Miernik most recently worked as an in-house lawyer for Bilfinger SE in Essen.

As of 1 January 2017, Dr Helmut Miernik will be starting work in the Dusseldorf offices of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH. He will be providing consulting services for both construction and architectural law and for real estate law. Dr Miernik most recently worked as an in-house lawyer for Bilfinger SE in Essen.

Before Dr Helmut Miernik began his work with Bilfinger Berger in 2004, he spent two years as an attorney for the Dusseldorf law firm Rotthege Wassermann Partner. From 1996 to 2002 he was an attorney and partner in the firm Heiermann Franke Knipp in Berlin, where he consulted for customers like Deutsche Bahn on constructing the main Berlin train station and on other infrastructure measures.

About Dr Miernik
Dr Helmut Miernik studied law in Freiburg and Munich. He completed his doctoral degree at Leipzig University in 1997. Besides his work for Luther, he will also be accepting a lecturer position in construction law at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), under the Construction Operations chair of Prof. Shervin Haghsheno. He has also co-authored a commentary on the Dispute Resolution Rules for the Construction Industry.

  • Member of the Permanent Commission to Establish and Develop the Dispute Resolution Rules for the Construction Industry (SL Bau) of the German Society for Construction Law and the German Concrete and Construction Technology Association.
  • Representative of the main association of the German Construction Industry in the working group on establishing new building contract and architectural law in the German Civil Code under the Federal Ministry of Justice.
