Luther strengthens its corporate team in Munich

Munich - Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft has gained Dr Stephan Rippert as a new Partner to further extend its Corporate/M&A practice area in Munich. Rippert, who has over 25 years’ experience as a lawyer, is moving from Reed Smith where he has been instrumental in setting up the Munich office since 2006.

Background

Stephan Rippert, who is also admitted to practice law in New York (USA) and who was General Counsel for ViacomCBS in New York, amongst other things, before becoming a lawyer, advises German and international clients and maintains a strong global network. Rippert’s industry expertise will ideally strengthen Luther’s industry groups; for years he has focused on the media/entertainment, life science and energy sectors.

Daniel Donhauser will be joining Stephan Rippert as a Senior Associate at Luther. Daniel Donhauser started specialising in the areas of corporate, M&A and venture capital early on in his career.

“With this team we can combine corporate and commercial advice to the industry leaders on the one hand and to start-ups on the other. The expertise that these colleagues have and their regional networking will help us to successfully develop our activities in the media, life science and energy sectors across all locations”, said Stefan Galla, Service Line Head Corporate/M&A, emphasising the strategic advantages of the new Partner.

Elisabeth Lepique, Co-Managing Partner at Luther expects synergies in the area of international advisory activities: “Stephan Rippert’s international connections are largely complementary to our Best Friends network, complementing it in a sector-specific way and are therefore a useful addition in many areas. With his many years of advisory experience, Stephan Rippert and his team will significantly strengthen our Corporate/M&A practice.”

André Große Vorholt, Location Head of Luther’s Munich office, is also looking forward to welcoming this team. “Together with Sebastian Janka (who was previously at Noerr, antitrust law) and Gerd Stuhlmacher (who was previously at Norton Rose, energy law) we have recently strengthened the compliance-related areas of our office with specialists at partner level. The fact that with Stephan Rippert we are now strengthening our corporate division with someone who is deeply rooted in the Munich market is very important for the further development of the office”.

Stephan Rippert is convinced that he has found the ideal environment for his clients and for himself: “I am looking forward to working at Luther and especially the exciting task of supporting one of the leading German law firms in the expansion of its corporate practice and the further development of its international relations in the USA. Luther offers me an excellent platform; in particular, I will be able to advise my clients even more comprehensively than before thanks to the special expertise available.”
