The scientific publisher De Gruyter purchased all of the shares in von Lucius & von Lucius Verlagsgesellschaft mbH at the end of 2015. The publishing couple Prof. Dr. Wulf D. von Lucius and Akka von Lucius were advised by Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH during the transaction.
De Gruyter is further expanding its range in the areas of economics and social studies with the takeover. In addition to the journals, the approximately 300 titles available in the comprehensive book program will also go to De Gruyter. Approximately 2,000 more Lucius books can be retrieved via De Gruyter's edition program. De Gruyter will be investing in the further digitalization of the program and expanding existing good relationships with international institutions. The Stuttgart location will close towards the end of the year and the Lucius program will be managed in future by De Gruyter Oldenbourg Verlag in Munich.
