Hannah-Laura Schütte primarily advises domestic and international companies from a variety of industries in restructuring situations. She concentrates her practice on providing legal and operational assistance during debtor-in-possession management and protective shield proceedings, insolvency proceedings, and reorganisation proceedings under the German Corporate Stabilisation and Restructuring Act. Her services also include carrying out preparatory work and providing legal assistance before the application to open insolvency proceedings is filed, as well as advising companies and their corporate bodies or creditors prior to insolvency on all insolvency law issues – including the special features of insolvency employment law, which is a core element of many restructuring projects. Hannah-Laura Schütte further specialises in enforcing and defending insolvency-specific rights and claims, in particular, liability claims against managing directors and rights to contest transactions performed by the debtor before the insolvency proceedings were opened.
Hannah-Laura Schütte studied law at the University of Cologne (Germany). She then carried out her legal training in Dusseldorf (Germany), part of which involved working in a law firm that specialised in providing insolvency administrator services. Hannah-Laura Schütte was admitted to the German Bar in 2017.
Prior to joining Luther as a lawyer, Hannah-Laura Schütte worked as an insolvency lawyer in a large commercial law firm.
Hannah-Laura Schütte is a founding and board member of Düsseldorfer Kreis für Transformation und Restrukturierung e.V.
She is also a visiting lecturer on avoidance in insolvency law at the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU).
