Franziska Tilgner provides comprehensive advice to companies and public authorities on IT law and data protection law. She focuses in particular on providing legal support for IT implementation projects, for example in the drafting and negotiation of IT contracts (e.g. EVB-IT), the drafting of general terms and conditions and terms of use, and the data protection compliance of new IT solutions and AI applications. She also regularly assists with M&A transactions, including on data protection issues and securing software rights.
She specialises in IT security law, particularly in regulated industries such as the healthcare and financial sectors. Franziska Tilgner assists companies in implementing requirements under the BSI Act, the NIS2 Directive, DORA and the Cyber Resilience Act, from applicability assessments and the development of internal guidelines and contractual provisions to emergency management and support and follow-up in the event of cyber attacks. Another focus is on legal preparation for certifications (e.g. ISO 27001, TISAX).
Franziska Tilgner is regularly asked to speak on IT security law topics, for example at industry associations or specialist events.
Franziska Tilgner studied law at the University of Passau (Germany). Her legal training included, among other things, a training period in the legal department of a media group. Franziska Tilgner started her career as a lawyer working for a commercial law firm in IP/IT before she moved to Luther in 2021.
