Dr Kuuya Chibanguza specialises in advising on aspects of digital and traditional product law. He is frequently recommended as an advisor to domestic and international clients when it comes to minimising (product) liability risks in the context of digitalisation (Industry 4.0). In a series of events developed by him under the title of “AI Officer I KI Beauftragter (Compliance x KI)”, he regularly holds workshops on the requirements of the AI Act. Kuuya Chibanguza has already successfully trained many participants to become AI Officers. He has also assisted with various internal projects regarding implementing AI systems.
Kuuya Chibanguza is co-head of the Digital Transformation taskforce of the Federal Association of Commercial Law Firms in Germany (BWD). He is also a director of the Interdisciplinary Institute of Automated Systems (RifaS) in Hanover. Furthermore, Kuuya Chibanguza is a co-editor of the interdisciplinary handbook “Künstliche Intelligenz” (Artificial Intelligence) published by Nomos and of “ZdiW”, a magazine dealing with digital business law. He is a member of the advisory board of EuDiR, a magazine dealing with European data and information law, and the editor of the form book “Product Compliance” (both published by Nomos) and of a commentary on the AI Act published by C.H. Beck.
Kuuya Chibanguza is a frequent lecturer on topics related to his areas of practice and guest at panel discussions.
Dr Kuuya Josef Chibanguza is a certified specialist in international business law. He studied law at the University of Osnabrück (Germany), completing at the same time a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) programme in business law. He was awarded his doctorate for a thesis on a European law topic. Kuuya Josef Chibanguza joined Luther as a lawyer in 2013.
In addition to working as a lawyer at Luther, Kuuya Josef Chibanguza also works as a visiting lecturer and is the author of various legal papers.
