Dr Alexander Ehrle advises clients on issues relating to international trade and foreign trade law in Germany and Brussels. He is admitted to practise law in both Germany and the United States.
His advisory services cover export control and sanctions law, including related investigations, administrative proceedings and court proceedings. Dr Alexander Ehrle also represents clients in investment review proceedings and advises them on FDI regulations in Germany and the EU, as well as on approval procedures under the EU Third Country Subsidy Regulation. For his expertise in investment review law, Dr Ehrle was named one of GCR's ‘40 under 40’ in the field of FDI.
His expertise also covers ESG legislation, and he advises clients on issues relating to the CSDDD, LkSG, CSRD and ESRS, as well as other EU legislation within the framework of the Green Deal, such as the EU Deforestation Regulation, the EU Forced Labour Regulation and the CBAM.
Dr Alexander Ehrle studied law at the universities of Heidelberg, Montpellier, Mainz and Munich. He subsequently obtained his doctorate in international law from Ludwig Maximilian University, also in Munich. He also earned an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from New York University.
He completed his legal training at the Berlin Court of Appeal, undertaking placements in Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan and Tokyo, as well as at the Federal Foreign Office and international commercial law firms.
