Luther gains building and public procurement lawyer Dr Stephan Götze as a Partner for its Berlin office

Berlin – On 1 April 2021, Dr Stephan Götze (50) will join the Berlin office of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft as a Partner. The lawyer and certified specialist in building and architectural law previously worked as Counsel for Baker McKenzie in Berlin. At Luther, he will strengthen the Real Estate practice and share above all his experience in private building law and in acting as an advisor to the public sector.

“With Dr Götze, Luther has won an all-rounder who is experienced in working with both private builders and the public sector,” said Elisabeth Lepique, Managing Partner at Luther. “Covering such a broad range of services is particularly helpful in Berlin, where many large construction projects require such a background knowledge in both areas as Dr Götze brings with him.”

“The expansion of our competencies in private building and architectural law continues to be a key priority for us,” said Achim Meier, Head of Real Estate. “We are very pleased to further expand our expertise in this field with an experienced expert at such an important location as Berlin.”

The focus area of Dr Stephan Götze’s services is providing building and public procurement law advice to diverse stakeholders, including private investors and the public sector, with a particular emphasis on contracting and on rendering advice on the procurement and negotiation of building contracts. He also represents his clients in court and arbitration proceedings regarding supply and service contracts.

The experienced building law expert has already advised the public sector, including Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, on the planning and conception of several large construction projects in Germany.

Dr Stephan Götze obtained his doctorate from the University of Bayreuth. He commenced his career as a lawyer at Sibeth in 2005 and then moved to HFK in Berlin, where he was later promoted to Partner. In 2014, he moved to Baker McKenzie.
