Dusseldorf - By resolution of the Partners' Meeting, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft has appointed Prof. Dr Tobias Leidinger as a Partner. The experienced energy, planning and environmental lawyer, who is a certified specialist in administrative law, has worked as Counsel in the firm’s Dusseldorf office since 2015. The appointment confirms the outstanding quality of his advisory work, in particular for companies from the energy sector and from other industries and for public sector companies, including E.ON SE, PreußenElektra, Uniper, LEAG, EWN and BGE.
Prof. Dr Leidinger has outstanding industry knowledge and many years of experience advising industrial companies, in particular on matters pertaining to energy, industrial plant, environmental, nuclear, planning and waste law. Currently, this includes providing advice on constitutional and compensation law issues in connection with the coal phase-out in Germany, but above all supporting complex infrastructure projects. Most recently, he was able to win the German Federal company for radioactive waste disposal (BGE) as a new client in an open public procurement competition. Luther is now advising BGE on the retrieval of radioactive waste from the Asse II mine.
Prof. Dr Tobias Leidinger is also a Director at the Institute for Mining and Energy Law (IBE) at the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB). Furthermore, he is the author of relevant textbooks and commentaries, especially on environmental and energy law, and a frequent lecturer.
“Complex infrastructure projects are a special challenge: they require not only excellent legal and industry knowledge and strategic foresight, but also special project management know-how,” said Dr Markus Sengpiel, Co-Managing Partner at Luther. “With Prof. Dr Leidinger, we have a very experienced expert on board for this. He is in his element when it comes to the practice-oriented management of projects at the interface between technology and the law. His advisory services as a lawyer and legal project manager are highly appreciated by both clients and us. We are now honouring this by accepting him into the partnership.”
