Benjamin Effler studied law at the Free University of Berlin (Germany) and then went on to obtain his doctorate from the University of Bayreuth (Germany) for a thesis on an insurance law topic. Part of his legal training involved working in an international commercial law firm and at the German Federal Chancellery.
