Luther advises Olympic show jumping champion Ludger Beerbaum on partnership with international private equity investment group

Cologne - The international show jumping company Ludger Beerbaum Stables GmbH has entered into a strategic partnership with Waterland Private Equity and their Danish portfolio company Helgstrand Dressage. For this purpose, Ludger Beerbaum Stables has transferred its business to the Global Equestrian Group. Ludger Beerbaum Stables was comprehensively advised by Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft on the deal.

Waterland will be the majority shareholder of the newly established partnership. In addition to the aspects surrounding the transfer of the business of Ludger Beerbaum Stables and the formation of the new Global Equestrian Group, real estate law issues in connection with heritable building right contracts and leases also played an important role in the transaction. Ludger Beerbaum will continue to be the Managing Director of the Group’s German activities.

Ludger Beerbaum Stables is an internationally recognised show jumping company with a sports and trading stable, a stallion station and the equestrian centre Riesenbeck International. The company was founded by four-time Olympic show jumping champion Ludger Beerbaum.
