Thomas Böckmann-Nalop primarily advises national and international companies on litigation issues and on matters pertaining to commercial and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, banking and capital markets law and maritime business law. He is a frequent litigator, having conducted a large number of judicial proceedings in the past, especially proceedings regarding post-M&A disputes, shareholder disputes, the defence of prospectus liability claims and the defence of class actions in the automotive industry. Thomas Böckmann-Nalop also advises clients on the negotiation and drafting of commercial and distribution agreements, sales contracts, general terms and conditions and service agreements. In the area of maritime business law, he has a wealth of experience advising on the delivery of purchased or sold merchant vessels and cruise ships.
Thomas Böckmann-Nalop studied law at the University of Hamburg (Germany), where he also completed an additional course of studies in Law & Economics. Thomas Böckmann-Nalop carried out his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Celle (Germany), which included, inter alia, working for an international business law firm and for the Banking Senate of the Higher Regional Court of Celle.
Thomas Böckmann-Nalop was admitted to the German Bar at the beginning of 2015, following which he worked for a law firm that specialised in banking and capital markets law in Hamburg and Berlin (Germany). Thomas Böckmann-Nalop joined Luther’s Hamburg office in 2017.
