Katharina Gorontzi advises on all matters pertaining to medical law and individual and collective employment law. This also includes acting as a litigator. In the area of medical law, she specialises in advising all service providers such as university clinics, hospitals, contract physicians, medical care centres and, in particular, accompanies transaction processes and restructurings in the inpatient and outpatient areas and has particular expertise in the area of professional law for the medical professions.
Katharina Gorontzi studied law at the University of Münster (Germany), passing her first state exam in 2009. She then carried out her legal training in Düsseldorf and Munich (both Germany) with an emphasis on medial law. Her legal training included working for the Association of North Rhine-based Pharmacists and for law firms that specialised in medical law, amongst others.
After being admitted to the German Bar, Katharina Gorontzi worked from 2012 to 2018 as an in-house lawyer at a professional corporation and as an in-house legal advisor at a municipal hospital. Whilst working, she additionally did a master’s programme in medical law at the University of Münster, which she successfully completed in 2014. Katharina Gorontzi joined Luther in November 2018. In 2020, she successfully completed the specialist lawyer course "Labour Law".
