Webinar "Power Shortages and Rising Commodity Costs: Revisiting Force Majeure" - German Chamber of Commerce in China

Event
Further Information

Companies in China are facing the dual shockwaves of widening power shortage/power rationing and surging commodity costs. Major power shortages have halted production at factories including suppliers of global brands. Raw materials costs increase has almost made the contract performance “commercially impracticable”. The current situation poses a number of practical, commercial and legal issues of which businesses should be conscious.

The German Chamber of Commerce in China welcomes you to join this webinar with experts from Luther Shanghai on December 14, 4-5pm. This webinar highlights a number of issues associated with the drafting and construction of force majeure clauses, including the general approach taken by the courts to the interpretation of such clauses, when failure of suppliers will constitute force majeure, notice requirements in force majeure clauses, and whether acts of subcontractors may constitute force majeure.

This webinar will be held in English. All involved in the sales, sourcing and procurement function are highly recommended to join this webinar.
