Study “Kanzleimonitor”: German in-house lawyers recommend Luther as No.1 law firm for business in Asia

Recently the German Federal Association of In-house Counsels (Bundesverband der Unternehmensjuristen BUJ) published the study “Kanzleimonitor 2014/15“. One of the results: Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH is the German law firm, which is mostly recommended by German in-house counsels for doing business in Asia.

Background

The study “Kanzleimonitor 2014/15” contains the results of a survey conducted among in-house counsels of 578 companies. Amongst other topics, the study provides information about which law firm to choose for activities abroad.

Among the leading law firms which are recommended for doing business in Asia Luther is ranked as number 1. In total, 69 law firms were recommended by German legal departments. Luther succeeded in obtaining the largest share of all of these recommendations.

Especially when recommending legal advice for business in Singapore, the participants of the survey expressed a clear preference: with 40 percent of all recommendations Luther obtained most of the votes. Moreover, the German law firm was recommended for giving advice concerning the business in seven further Asian countries. “We sincerely thank our clients for the confidence they placed in us, and we are very delighted about the recognition of our work in Singapore and the surrounding region. Surely we will further expand our expertise in the Asia-Pacific region – not just in Singapore, but also in other countries, especially in Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, India, Vietnam, Japan, Australia and China”, says Birgitta von Dresky, partner at Luther’s office in Singapore.
