The focus of Dr Christian Rabe's advisory services is on data protection law (dealing with data protection queries, developing data protection concepts; drafting data protection contracts, advising data protection officers, drafting and reviewing data protection policies) and IT law (including drafting and negotiating IT contracts; IT project business). He also advises on copyright and e-commerce law.

For several years now, Volkswagen Financial Services AG has trusted his solution-oriented and practical advice on all data protection issues arising in the financial services sector.

Dr Christian Rabe is a member of the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Recht und Informatik e.V. (German Society for Law and Informatics e.V.) and the Hamburger Datenschutz Gesellschaft e.V. (Hamburg Data Protection Association e.V.)

Dr Christian Rabe studied law at the Universities of Hamburg (Germany) and Alicante (Spain) with a focus on information and communication, successfully completing his studies in 2010. He received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg for a thesis on a topic regarding the right to publicly express one’s opinions. Whilst carrying out his legal training at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court, he worked for the Hamburg offices of some international law firms, amongst other. Christian Rabe was admitted to the German Bar at the beginning of 2015. Before joining Luther, he worked for the Hamburg offices of some international business law firms in data protection and media law, amongst other areas of law. At Luther, Christian Rabe is a member of the practice group IT law/data protection law.
