Dr. Ulrich Theune

Dr. Theune specializes in complex national and international state court and arbitration proceedings in the areas of heavy industries and energy supply, plant engineering and construction, as well as commercial and corporate law. His department is presently handling proceedings before national courts and arbitral tribunals with parties from more than 25 countries. Foreign law expertise: France, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and United States.

Dr. Theune has many years of experience in arbitration (i.a. DIS, ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICSID, Swiss Rules and SCC). He has acted in more than 140 national and international arbitration proceedings either as arbitrator or as counsel; and in more than 40 proceedings as sole arbitrator or chairman of the arbitral tribunal. Dr. Theune published a commentary on the DIS Arbitration Rules in Schütze (Editor), "Institutional Arbitration" (2nd edition 2011).
