Ulf Andre Bertheau

Advice with regard to the building, rebuilding, purchasing and selling of merchant ships and the drafting of the financing contracts associated therewith; advising shipping companies on the drafting of installation contracts for offshore wind farms. Advising shipping companies and ship management companies on all issues relating to their business activities.

Ulf Bertheau was born in 1958. After studying in Freiburg and Munich, he carried out his traineeship in Bremen and Hamburg. From 1987 to 2001 he worked as an in-house lawyer for the shipping company Egon Oldendorff in Lübeck. From 1996 onwards, he also provided legal advice to numerous shipping companies, issuing houses and wharfs. He worked for a law firm specialising in maritime law from 2011 and joined Luther in 2011.

• Advising issuing houses from the capital market industry on an ongoing basis on the structuring and restructuring of shipping projects;
• Advising German wharfs on an ongoing basis with regard to negotiations regarding new building contracts;
• Ongoing advice with regard to negotiations regarding the installation of offshore wind farms, including financing;
• Advising shipping companies on the enforcement of claims arising from conflicts with charterers.
