Areas of practice

Daniel Fehling advises clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), on corporate law and on matters pertaining to banking and capital markets law. His M&A services especially include carrying out due diligence reviews, providing advice during the transaction process, and drafting and negotiating contracts, including joint venture agreements. In the area of corporate law, the focus of his advisory services is on restructurings and reorganisations. In the area of banking and capital markets law, he specialises in investment funds, including, inter alia, shipping, real estate, secondary life insurance market and renewable energy funds. Daniel Fehling has successfully conducted over 150 lawsuits in his areas of expertise, in particular, lawsuits regarding disputes among shareholders, commercial law and banking and capital markets law issues. Daniel Fehling regularly lectures on commercial, corporate and capital markets law topics.

After studying law at the University of Trier (Germany) and at the University of Athens (Greece) from 2001 to 2006, which also included an additional qualification in Anglo-American law, Daniel Fehling obtained his LL.M. in commercial law from the University of Auckland (New Zealand) in 2007.

Following his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Celle (Germany), Daniel Fehling was admitted to the German Bar in 2010. Before joining Luther in 2013, he worked for two medium-sized law firms, specialising in commercial, corporate and procedural law. Daniel Fehling is a certified specialist in commercial and corporate law and a certified specialist in banking and capital markets law.
