Lukas Kienzle primarily advises on German and European competition law. In particular, he provides advice on antitrust, merger control and abuse of dominance proceedings in Germany and abroad, and on how to set up distribution systems, cooperations between competitors or licence agreements. He also advises on effective competition law compliance systems. Another focus of his work is the structuring of projects and tenders involving subsidies in accordance with EU State aid law.
Lukas Kienzle studied law at the University of Passau (Germany). He obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium). As part of his legal training, he worked for the antitrust and state aid law department of a leading German business law firm in Brussels (Belgium) and for the European law unit of the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection in Berlin (Germany). Lukas Kienzle was admitted to the German Bar in 2016. Before joining Luther, he worked for the antitrust, state aid and European law departments of other leading business law firms.
