Dr Thomas Giering advises on matters pertaining to corporate law and M&A. He further provides advice in the areas of compliance and white-collar crime, where he assists with the introduction of effective and efficient compliance structures for prevention purposes, supports companies in carrying out internal investigations, and represents companies and private persons in criminal and administrative offence proceedings. In addition, Thomas Giering frequently publishes papers in professional journals.
Dr Thomas Giering studied law at the University of Leipzig and carried out his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin (Germany). After graduating from university, he worked as a research assistant in an internationally operating law firm in Bonn (Germany). From 2015, he worked as a lawyer in a medium-sized law firm in Berlin. Thomas Giering obtained his doctorate from the University of Leipzig in 2017 for a thesis on sentencing law and joined Luther's Leipzig office in 2018. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Leipzig and a frequent publisher in professional journals.
