Important notice regarding Luther Shanghai

Limited Availability and Working Hours During the Current Health Emergency in China due to the Corona virus

Background

Limited Availability and Working Hours During the Current Health Emergency in China due to the Corona virus

Because of the current health situation, the Spring Festival holiday was extended by the Chinese State Council until 02 February 2020 (Sunday). Moreover, according to a notice issued by the Shanghai municipal government earlier this week, the period of 03 – 09 February will count as rest days in Shanghai. Thus, it is expected that Monday, 10 February, will be the first regular working day in the new year.

In order to manage the work load and serve our clients as efficiently as possible, our lawyers will start working as of 03 February (Monday). However, we will reduce onsite office work and meetings to a minimum and work remotely (home office) as much as possible.

As regards the corporate services (accounting and tax services), we expect that the tax depart-ments will extend filing deadlines in a generous manner, therefore clients using our corporate ser-vices will most probably not miss any filing deadlines. Yet, we are afraid that management reports, certain overseas payments and other non-essential services may be delayed.

If you have any question or concern regarding our work for you or any urgent issue, please do reach out to your regular contacts in Shanghai or to our China Practice Team in Cologne, Germany.

We apologize for any inconvenience and delay that may arise from the current situation.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.
