The Revised IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence: New Perspectives and Remaining Challenges

Further Information

In December 2020 the IBA adopted – and last month formally released – its 2020 Rules on the Taking of Evidence in International Arbitration. It is only the second revision since first published in 1999 and updates the rules, inter alia, to take into account today’s widespread use of remote or hybrid hearings and includes a provision on illegally obtained evidence. We are looking forward to discussing the changes these revisions and their implementation may bring to international arbitration as well as missed opportunities to address remaining challenges. The event brings together views from Germany, Italy, Sweden and the UK and combines both counsel and in-house perspectives.

Please join us on Monday, 22 March 2021 from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m. CET for a discussion with:

  • Fredrik Andersson, Partner, Mannheimer Swartling, Gothenburg (Sweden)
  • Cecilia Carrara, Partner, Legance, Rome (Italy)
  • Elizabeth Hincapié, Head of Legal EMEA, Harsco Rail Europe, Dusseldorf (Germany)
  • Jeffrey Sullivan, Partner, Gibson Dunn, London (UK)

Moderators: Dr Richard Happ & Tim Rauschning
