All German lawyers, tax advisors, and notaries are required to take out a professional liability insurance policy according to the provisions of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung, “BRAO”), the German Federal Notaries’ Act (Bundesnotarordnung, “BNotO”), and the German Tax Advisors’ Act (Steuerberatungsgesetz, “StBerG”), respectively.
For law firms, the minimum sum insured is € 2,500,000.00.

These General Terms and Conditions can be obtained from the respective offices of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft. To determine the scope of our services and the fees, we additionally enter into engagement letters and fee arrangements with our clients which we negotiate individually with our clients.

Professional regulations (Section 43a (4) BRAO) prohibit German lawyers from representing conflicting interests. This is why we always check whether a conflict of interests exists before we accept an engagement.
