Dr. Michael Rath was born in 1969. He studied law at the University of Saarbrücken and in Cologne, working as a research assistant at both universities. Whilst working full time, he completed his doctorate with an emphasis on Internet search engines at the University of Würzburg. He has worked for Luther (or its respective predecessor) since 1999.

Dr. Michael Rath provides both international and domestic clients with legal counsel in IT law and competition law. He specializes in creating and negotiating complex software and IT contracts including IT outsourcing, IT project contracts, lisensure contracts, Shared Service Agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLA), General Terms and Conditions (particularly for IT enterprises), the drafting of opinions and statements including written warnings, judicial and extrajudicial representation, expert due diligences, as well as conducting contract negotiations and in-house training.
