Tina Ines Schmidt studied law at the Berlin Humboldt University (Germany) with a focus on public business law from 2005 to 2011. Whilst at university, she also studied for ten months at ELTE University in Budapest (Hungary). Her legal training included working at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and at the German Federal Chancellery, as well as at a Berlin law firm specialising in energy law. Tina Ines Schmidt is writing her doctoral thesis in the field of the Law of the Sea and national administrative maritime law, on the topic of “Safety regulations for seagoing traditional vessels”. As part of her work on her doctoral thesis, she has long done intense research into legal issues regarding the international conventions SOLAS, MARPOL and LLC and into the national regulations for traditional vessels sailing under the flag of the Federal Republic of Germany. Tina Ines Schmidt joined Luther as a lawyer in 2015.
Tina Ines Schmidt advises on public real estate, building and special planning law, a well as on environmental law. In public building law, she advises primarily on matters pertaining to local development plan procedures, on how to obtain building permits and provisional planning permission, as well as on aspects of special urban development law. Tina Ines Schmidt additionally has experience in comprehensive real estate transactions, where she also advises on public-law issues.
