Maxi Eberhardt (born in 1978) studied law at the Universities of Leipzig, Fribourg (Switzerland) and Münster. At the University of Münster, she also completed additional training in banking and capital markets law. During her traineeship at the Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf she also worked for the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) in the Thrift Supervision department.
Maxi Eberhardt was admitted to the German Bar in 2009 and then worked for a law firm in Bonn specialising in banking and capital markets. Maxi Eberhardt has worked for Luther in Hamburg since 2011.
Maxi Eberhardt’s spectrum of advice covers all areas relating to banking and capital markets law, including financial regulatory law. She advises issuing houses and medium-sized companies on structured forms of financing, in particular, on the conception, issuing and public offering of investment asset pools (in particular, closed ended AIFs for, amongst other things, ships, real estate, renewable energy) as well as on the issuing of other investment products (e.g. bonds). In addition to providing transaction advice, she also specialises in representing banks and financial service providers in disputes. Another focus of her current work is advising on how to interpret and apply the German Capital Investment Act (KAGB) and how this can affect existing and future fund structures.
