Ingmar König studied law in Heidelberg and Berlin (Germany) and Lausanne (Switzerland) and additionally holds a Bachelor’s degree in business informatics from the Technical University of Berlin. His legal training included working for a large independent business law firm in Berlin, a Regional Court division dealing with IP and copyright matters, and the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Ingmar König was admitted to the German Bar in 2017 and joined Luther the same year.
Ingmar König advises national and international clients on digitalisation-related questions of law. A focus of his work is information technology (IT) law. His advisory services include drafting and negotiating IT contracts regarding, for example, the development, maintenance and support of software, e-commerce, licences, IT outsourcing and IT projects as well as SLAs. Another focus is German and European data protection law, in particular, verifying the permissibility of future data processing. He is member of the German Association of Law and Informatics (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Recht und Informatik e.V. (DGRI)).
