As a lawyer, Cornelia Yzer primarily advises technology firms on regulatory issues. In doing so, she draws on her long-standing industry experience. Her industry focus is on life science and digitalisation.

Cornelia Yzer has demonstrable expertise as a manager, chairperson/member of supervisory boards and also from government positions. She was a Member of the German Bundestag (1990-1998), Parliamentary State Secretary (1992-1997), and Senator for Business, Research and Technology (2012-2016).

Cornelia Yzer currently sits on the Advisory Board of Medidata Inc., New York, on the Board of Trustees of RKW, and on the Advisory Committee of IFRR in Göttingen (Germany). In the past, she was the Chairperson of the Board of Administration of Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) and the Chairperson of the Supervisory Boards of Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB) and of numerous large research institutions, as well as sitting on the advisory boards of various national and international companies. Furthermore, she was, for a period of 15 years, Chief Managing Director of the German Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (vfa), a Member of the Board of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA). Cornelia Yzer studied law and business in Bochum and Münster (Germany).
