Carsten Brutschke was born in 1970 and studied law from 1989 to 1994 at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany and at the Université de Lausanne, Switzerland. After completing his first state bar exam in 1994, he worked for the Privatisation Agency (later BvS) in the Department for Special Funds until 1995. He gained his LL.M. from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy, studying there from 1995 to 1996. After working as a trainee at the Higher Regional Court (KG), Berlin, he completed his second state bar exam in 1998. He was admitted to the German Bar and joined Luther’s predecessor firm in 1999. He is a member of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS).

Areas of Practice

Carsten Brutschke advises national and international investors on the acquisition, development and sale of real estate. He also advises the owners of real estate on all matters pertaining to asset and property management as well as on negotiating and drafting tenancy agreements and related documentation. His expertise also includes transactions relating to commercial and residential property as well as hotels and solar power plants. Furthermore, he is an experienced litigation lawyer who specialises in litigation and arbitration in the area of post-closing conflicts.

  • Drafting and negotiating a long-term property management contract with comprehensive advice, documentation and reporting obligations concerning a large-scale real estate property mainly used for commercial purposes
