Health care: Luther provides consulting services to four university hospitals in Comparatio acquisition by ProSpitalia
ProSpitalia GmbH, Germany's leading group purchasing organisation for medical devices, acquired Comparatio Health GmbH in mid-March. During the transaction and its associated competition tendering procedure, Luther provided consulting services to the four existing Comparatio shareholders: Universitätsmedizin Göttingen, Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Universitätsklinikum Regensburg and Universitätsmedizin Greifswald. In carrying out the complex mandate, Luther systematically delivered its combined expertise in the M&A sector, health care and public procurement law.
Comparatio is a strategic purchasing and services company, which primarily supports university hospitals in procurement management. To optimise procedures, IT information logistics at Comparatio combines master data management, contract management, supplier management and evaluation platforms within an intelligent IT architecture.
The acquisition of Comparatio consolidates ProSpitalia's market leadership among German purchasing service providers. In future, not only almost 600 existing hospital customers, but also nearly 25 per cent of Germany's university hospitals will benefit from ProSpitalia's range of services.
