Air-conditioning technology: Luther advises MANN+HUMMEL on its takeover of the Austrian family firm Jack Filter

On 21 July 2017, the MANN+HUMMEL Group, a market leader in filtration, acquired the "ventilation, air-conditioning and clean-room technology" business line of Austrian family firm Jack Filter. Luther has provided consulting to MANN+HUMMEL on numerous past transactions. During this takeover, Luther was in charge of advising the German company, with support from Viennese law firm Binder Grösswang.

The transaction also involved the acquisition of the three companies in Jack Filter Lufttechnik GmbH, JACK FILTER HUNGARIA Kft. and "J.F.I. Service" Kft. Through its acquisition of Jack Filter, MANN+HUMMEL is expanding its product range, particularly in the HEPA filter sector (HEPA = high efficiency particulate air filter), and has acquired two state-of-the-art production sites in Austria and Hungary. Neither company has published information on the purchase price.
